Bookish Question: When a new book in a series comes out...

And you push it back and then you realize it's been like a year since you pushed it back, enough time to not completely remember what was happening in the first place, or a new book comes out from a series you like but you don't really remember some details of the book before or the series in general because it's a long series, do you read the book and figure the details will come to you or do you just choose to re-read from book one and get caught up in the story line again?   I have both these problems right now. On one hand I have had The Strange Angels book #3 and 4, Jealousy (out in 2010) and Defiance (out in 2011), on my shelf  for ages and I wanted to finally get to them and read them, but by now I don't really remember every detail in the story because it's been a long time coming. On the other hand I just bought Lost in Time (Blue Bloods #6) by Melissa De La cruz and I kind of think I should re read it all just so I have all the stories straight sinc...

Bookish Question: Do You Have Times When...

You finish a book you really liked and then you just don't know what the hell to pick up next. You have an idea of what mood you are in, but you just can't seem to pick up something and commit to it. That's where I am right now. I finished Divergent by Veronica Roth (liked it) and I had this poll where I asked you guys what I should pick up next. It was between Juliet Immortal and The Pledge. The Pledge won, but after I considered it I realized I needed a small break from dystopian (if I read about another messed up society right now I might just not like it that much). I considered reading Just Listen by Sarah Dessen (because I've had it for forever and well everybody seems to love her books... I am a Sarah Dessen virgin -Hello! I am a supernatural girl and Sarah writes contemporary, not that surprising I haven't read anything by her), and then I considered going ahead and reading Lost In Time by Melissa De La Cruz (even though I am debating on waiting on it so I c...

While she’s in the air, it’s easy to forget life with her absentee mother at the low-rent end of a South Carolina beach town. When her flight instructor, Mr. Hall, hires her to fly for his banner advertising business, she sees it as her ticket out of the trailer park. And when he dies suddenly, she’s afraid her flying career is gone forever.      But Mr. Hall’s teenage sons, golden boy Alec and adrenaline junkie Grayson, are determined to keep the banner planes flying. Though Leah has crushed on Grayson for years, she’s leery of getting involved in what now seems like a doomed business — until Gra...

So I started reading Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols

Goodreads Published : July 10th 2012 "As the door was opening, I couldn't see them, but I recognised Alec's voice. "Do you think he's doing her?" "Good God, no,"Jake said.  "Of course he is," Grayson said. "Why else would that stingy bastard give away flying lessons for free?"  The door swung all the way open and banged against the metal wall like a gunshot. All three of them jumped and then turned to stare at me/; Alec sprawled in a lawn chair, Jake leaning against the nose of the red Piper, Grayson with both hands in the engine. I stood there for a moment more, processing, trying not to jump to conclusions. Maybe they hadn't meant what I thought they'd meant. Maybe they hadn't meant Mr. Hall. Maybe they hadn't meant me.  Yes, they had. I saw in the next instant. Jake looked at the cement floor and shook his head like it was a damn shame I'd heard them, but he didn't really care. Alec, wide eyes on me, st...

Succubus Shadows (Georgina Kincaid #5) by Richelle Mead

Immortality, seduction, shape-shifting into any human form she desires, walking in heels that would cripple mere mortals -- all child's play to a succubus like her. Helping to plan her ex-boyfriend's wedding is a different story. Georgina isn't sure which is worse -- that Seth is marrying another woman, or that Georgina has to run all over Seattle trying on bridesmaid dresses. Still, there are distractions. Georgina's roommate, Roman, is cluttering her apartment with sexual tension. Then there's Simone, the new succubus in town, who's intent on corrupting Seth. Review: Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid #4) by Richelle Mead

But lately, thanks to her foul mood over breaking up with bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, she’s been so wicked that Seattle’s über-demon Jerome, decides to “outsource” Georgina to a rival—and have her spy for him in the process. Being exiled to the frozen north—okay, Vancouver—and leaving Seth in the cozy clutches of his new girlfriend is unpleasant enough. Then Jerome is kidnapped, and all immortals under his control mysteriously lose their powers. One bright spot: with her life-sucking ability gone, there’s nothing to keep Georgina from getting down and dirty with Seth—nothing apart from his girlfriend that is. Now, as the supernatural population starts turning on itself, a newly mortal Georgina...

Review: Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid #3) by Richelle Mead

T itle: Succubus Dreams A uthor: Richelle Mead S eries: Georgina Kincaid B ook #: 3 P ages: 296 R eading  L evel: Adult B ook  R ating:  G ood reads   R ating: 4.20 P ublished: Aug. 30, 2008 Some days, a girl just can't catch a break. . . . . .especially when the girl in question is Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting succubus who gets her energy from seducing men. First there's her relationship with gorgeous bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, which is unsatisfying on a number of levels. It's not just that they can't have sex in case Georgina inadvertently kills him (generally a turn-off for most guys). Lately, even spending time together is a challenge. Seth's obsessed with finishing his latest novel, and Georgina's under demonic orders to mentor the new (and surprisingly inept) succubus on the block. Then there are the dreams. Someone, or something, is preying on Georgina at night, draining her energy, and supplying eerie visions of her future. Georgina seeks a...

Review: Succubus On Top by Richelle Mead

T itle: Succubus on Top A uthor: Richelle Mead S eries: Georgina Kincaid B ook #: 2 P ages: 314 R eading  L evel: Adult B ook  R ating:  P ublished: Jan 1st, 2008 by Kensington  Georgina Kincaid's job sucks. Literally. Love hurts, and no one knows it better than Georgina Kincaid. If she so much as kisses Seth Mortensen, the shy, sexy, incredibly gifted Seattle writer she's been dating, she'll drain his life force. Georgina is a succubus-a demon who draws her power from other men's pleasure. Admittedly, the shapeshifting and immortality perks are terrific, and yes, Georgina did choose to join the ranks of hell centuries ago. But it seems completely unfair that a she-demon whose purpose is seduction can't get hot and heavy with the one mortal who knows and accepts her for who she is. It's not just her personal life that's in chaos. Doug, Georgina's co-worker at a local bookstore, has been exhibiting bizarre behavior, and Georgina suspects that something fa...

What's with all the killings!!??!

(Daniel Radcliffe. Picture is just for your eye pleasure.) Ugh, don't you hate when a favorite character dies? I'm watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and I am just at the end of it right now. You know who dies in this one. I don't wanna say names for those of you who don't know who it is, but I'm sad. I'm always sad when a favorite character dies. I remember the first time I read the book, I cried. It was dreadful. I have read books this last couples of days who have characters dying, and I think I need a break. An emotional break. You can't make me love a character and then just take him/her away from me! It's not right, it's not fair *insert whining sound here*. Anyways, yeah, characters dying is horrible, but not all characters can keep on living. It makes the story more powerful, gives it more depth and emotion. Blah, blah, I get all this, still, it would be nice to not have characters that you love die. Well, the movie ended, I...
